Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF)
MDF is made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is an easy-to use material best suited for indoor use. Its applications include furniture and cabinet making. Moreover, it is a popular material for laser-cutting – the precise process behind elegant decorative objects, or impressive architectural models.
